# Webhook

Channel ID, external system URL, and test send

Tab **Webhook** sends dialogue events to an external system.

## How to open

**Channels → channel → Edit → Webhook**

## Disable agent replies

A toggle in the top-right corner of the tab. When enabled, the agent does not reply to the customer in the channel — events are sent only to your URL.

## Channel ID

The channel's system identifier. There is a copy icon on the right side of the field. This ID is needed by the external system to understand which channel the event came from.

## Webhook URL

The address to which Athena will send the request. The field starts with `https`.

## Test Webhook

Button **Test Webhook** sends a test request to the specified URL. This is how you check that the address is reachable before sending live traffic.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.athenachat.ai/documentation/documentation-en/features/agent-setup/webhook.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
